Labor-aligned law firm Slater & Gordon is fighting efforts to expand union coverage of its lawyers, as Fair Work Commission-brokered negotiations to resolve a long-running dispute over pay and conditions failed on Wednesday night.

The Australian Services Union had sought the assistance of the FWC to help resolve the stalled nine-month-long enterprise bargaining negotiations, but Slater & Gordon on Thursday morning instead put a revised offer to staff after conciliation failed.
