Paris | Emmanuel Macron used the reopening of Notre Dame to bring together Donald Trump and Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky, a carefully executed diplomatic coup for the French president as the world’s eyes turned back to Paris five years after the cathedral’s devastating fire.
The US president-elect was among 50 world leaders present for the joyful reopening of the French icon, coming at a time of political peril for Mr Macron and as Europe holds its breath for the second Trump era.
