Trump turns the tables on identity politics
Donald Trump attacked the Democrats for being too progressive and woke on cultural issues. Many Americans agreed with that general theme, if not always the language.
Jennifer HewettColumnistOne of the Trump campaign’s most effective ads had nothing to do with the economy or inflation or immigration. It featured Kamala Harris expressing support five years ago for Californian prisons providing “gender-affirming” surgery for transgender inmates.
In his rambling rally speeches, Donald Trump also regularly brought up the idea of transgender men competing unfairly against women or girls in sports or using female change rooms.
