Leading executive women are calling for public institutions and government organisations to ramp up efforts to achieve gender equality in their senior ranks after the University of Melbourne’s appointed its first female vice chancellor in its 171-year history.
Analysis by The Australian Financial Review of Australia’s biggest public outfits revealed the university was not the only one to lag in female leadership, with dozens only having been led by men.
