Taskforce better late than never, but the damage has been done
It feels like the government has again underestimated the import of a serious event and is playing catch-up, which doesn’t help a prime minster fighting a perception of weakness.

Anthony Albanese was not messing around on Monday.
Flanked by the head of ASIO, the Australian Federal Police Commissioner, the Home Affairs Minister and the Attorney-General, he announced the formation of a counter-terrorism taskforce – or flying squad – to combat the growing scourge of antisemitism.
