Amid the recent controversy surrounding WiseTech Global founder Richard White was a somewhat overlooked detail – that he was selling hundreds of millions of dollars worth of WiseTech shares to pay his ex-wife.

In October, White disclosed that he had sold more than 350,000 shares worth $46 million, taking his total sales in that month alone to more than $100 million. Sources close to White told The Australian Financial Review that the proceeds were partially paid to his former wife, Barbara Mason. Their marriage ended in 2015.
