The number of jobs in public administration and safety has surged by more than 10 per cent in a year to a record high, as employment in the public sector grows at double the pace of the private sector.
Labour data published on Friday led shadow treasurer Angus Taylor to warn that Labor’s bloated bureaucracy was out of control and claim it was further evidence of an unhealthy economy too dependent on big government.
