Property guru Sasha Hopkins fined $1.3m, banned for four years
Self-styled property mogul Sasha Hopkins has been fined $1.25 million and banned from running companies for four years for running unregistered investment schemes without a financial licence.
An investigation by The Australian Financial Review published in March 2022 revealed that more than 130 investors were chasing millions of dollars in unpaid loans and interest from six collapsed companies linked to Mr Hopkins, who had secured land across Brisbane, Byron Bay and Melbourne with the aim of building apartment complexes.
