Woolworths NZ faces criminal charges for allegedly misleading shoppers

New Zealand’s competition regulator says it is filing criminal charges against Woolworths, alleging the supermarket giant and its Kiwi rival Pak’nSave are misleading shoppers on promotional prices and specials.

The Commerce Commission’s deputy chairwoman Anne Callinan said the regulator was not satisfied that “specials really are special”.
