Musk raises $9b for ‘anti-woke’ AI company

Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company xAI has raised $US6 billion ($9.3 billion) in a funding round that takes the amount it has raised since it was founded in July last year to $US12 billion, as it looks to keep up the pressure on rivals like OpenAI, which Mr Musk co-founded.

The company and Mr Musk are yet to comment on the funding, but details of it are included in a new filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
