Harvey Norman sales fall behind major rival The Good Guys

Billionaire businessman Gerry Harvey says the whitegoods and electrical retailing giant he founded and chairs is not losing ground to its biggest rival JB Hi-Fi and its The Good Guys chain of appliance stores.

Mr Harvey’s comments came after brokers at Citi told clients that The Good Guys appeared to be outperforming Harvey Norman in Australia, recording almost double the sales growth at the start of the new financial year.
