In 2020, when an independent inquiry commissioned by then High Court chief justice Susan Kiefel found that former judge Dyson Heydon had sexually harassed six young female associates, other women were inspired to come forward.

One of them was ACT Liberal politician and former lawyer Elizabeth Lee, who recounted how she was persistently propositioned by Heydon seven years earlier at the 2013 University of Canberra law ball.
