Former attorney-general Tom Hughes, KC, dies aged 101

Tom Hughes, AO, KC – the former Commonwealth attorney-general, World War II fighter pilot and senior barrister – has died.

Mr Hughes passed away after midday on Thursday, two days after his 101st birthday, and was hailed by leaders of the legal profession as a towering figure in the history of the law, and as a generous, loyal and fearless advocate.
