When the Morrison government brought forward the 2022 budget to late March in the vain hope it would act as a springboard to an unlikely victory in May, it had one key theme – a business-led recovery.

As in, the madcap pandemic spending by state and federal governments must cease and the private sector, aided by measures targeting industrial relations, tax, deregulation, skills and energy, must take over, generating jobs and growth.
