CEOs urge summit to break tax ‘malaise’

The country’s peak business group will attempt to jumpstart a moribund reform agenda with a national summit of business, union, and policy experts to “break the malaise” of a tax system increasingly unsuited to a modern economy.

The Business Council of Australia, which represents top 100 chief executives, has called for a summit as hopes fade for Anthony Albanese and Jim Chalmers to revive ideas to advance long-term reform.
